NYU Law School

In January, Smith and Wellesley toured NYU Law School.  Students were most impressed with the Law Library and the former home of Edgar Allen Poe.

Brooklyn Botanic Gardens

On Wednesday, November 20th all UASCJ students went to the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens.  The purpose of the visit was twofold.  As part of their science class, students explored different biomes and the flora that exists in each.  For art class, students were responsible for studying the different organic (as opposed to geometric) shapes present in nature.

Students Shania, Precious and Alisha study the characteristics of cactii.

Maya takes time out of her science work to pose for a picture.

Tallman Mountain State Park

In late October, students took a trip to Tallman Mountain State Park in the Palisades.  During the hike, students caught glimpses of the Hudson River and learned to curiously examine pieces of nature.  Some students were particularly fascinated by colored mushrooms, leaves of different shapes and a couple of animal sightings.

Sadia, Kiran and Shania collected leaves on their hike.
