Ms Marino

Ms Marino

Nicole Marino grew up in Staten Island, New York. She saw CATS, her first Broadway musical, at 3 years old, and slept through the entire show. Despite that inauspicious start, she fell in love with Broadway and went to see musicals as often as possible. She became hooked on Shakespeare in 6th grade, and after taking a drama elective in high school, there was no turning back. Theater became her life.

Ms. Marino earned a BA in Dramatic Literature and Theater History from NYU, an MA in Applied Theater from The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London, and most recently, an MA in Arts Administration from Baruch College.

After working as a substitute teacher for several years, Ms. Marino became certified to teach Theater (Pre K-12) and English (7-12) in 2008. She has taught both subjects at the middle and high school level.

In her life outside school, Ms. Marino loves to see shows, read, travel, seek out amazing gluten-free food, watch documentaries, and spend lots of time with Susie Q (pictured), the best remote teaching assistant ever.

Theater Teacher Fun Facts: Ms. Marino saw the SpongeBob SquarePants musical 33 times. She made her Off-Broadway debut when she was once involuntarily pulled onstage by her favorite actor and told to act like a rabbit. She directed WEST SIDE STORY and IN THE HEIGHTS during her early teaching career, and is looking forward to mounting a musical at UASLE someday!
