MS. Sheppard

Ms Sheppard

Ms. Sheppard’s journey as an educator began in Baltimore, Maryland, where she studied English Language & Literature at Morgan State University. Before transitioning back to her hometown of Brooklyn, NY, she served as a college admissions representative, traveling the nation to assist young people in their matriculation to higher learning institutions.

Ms. Sheppard started her teaching career by serving as a substitute teacher and community liaison, which afforded her the opportunity to learn the importance of relationship building and student advocacy. Since attaining her initial certification in 2018, Ms. Sheppard has had a unique, but ultimately fulfilling journey as an English teacher. She hopes to continue to use her classroom to empower students. She says, “A wise person once told me to always shoot for the moon. Even if I miss, I’ll still land amongst the stars.”

"Sister, when you get, give. When you learn, teach."
